January 2, 2024

v0.0.5

First release of 2024! We worked over the holidays (probably more than we should have) to get this one out in the wild.

Fixes

  • Can now edit and delete your messages.

  • AI Thread interaction streamlined, also each workspace can have its own AI Name and Avatar to make each workspace unique.

  • Message Classification – all messages are sent to AI to be classified, those that ask questions will have the AI attempt to answer them for you.

  • Image embeds act a bit better, still needs a bit more usability fixes.

  • DevTools window will not pop up anymore, it’s hidden.

  • You can now do “/roll” to roll dice, because fun.

  • Won’t notify that an update of 4.5.0 has been installed (on some platforms like Linux)

  • New Loading Screen

  • Various usability enhancement fixes (from those reporting in bugs)

Features

  • You can interact with the AI directly by creating a thread off your message using the little robot icon.

Known Issues

  • Pasting code from VSCode writes your message as a code block.

  • Notifications on Ubuntu don’t seem to clear on their own.

  • Channel always scrolls to the bottom on each channel change.

  • You will get notifications for your own messages.

  • Performance (we’re not focused on performance right now).

  • No role based access (currently, you can pretty much do anything w/o restriction).

  • Very large uploads of images will fail (too large).

  • Clicking notifications should open app to channel where that notification exists.

v0.0.3

Not yet available on CD-ROM, so you’ll have to burn your own ISO for old school look & feel.

Fixes

  • Removed Apple “Signing” which was causing it to be viewed as “corrupt” because it was being signed with a private (non-Apple Authorized) key.

  • Added “thread replies” so you can see who’s talking in a thread (and how many messages are in it)

  • Voting on messages (up/down arrows)

  • Clicking on uploaded images will show them at a larger size (for those with bad eyesight squinting on their screen)

  • Fixes backticks from having strange “new line” formatting

  • Various usability enhancement fixes (from those reporting in bugs)

Known Issues

  • You will get notifications for your own messages

  • No real “loading” screen when re-opening the application & authenticating

  • Performance (we’re not focused on performance right now)

  • No role based access (currently, you can pretty much do anything w/o restriction)

  • Very large uploads of images will fail (too large)
